any form of racism or discrimination. We believe that everyone, regardless of their ability, has the right to live a fulfilling life and be part of their community. We encourage and celebrate individualism, providing support for individual expression. In working towards an equitable and inclusive community for all, TLC’s mission is to support individuals with developmental disabilities to live in the community of their choice and have equitable engagement, access and a sense of belonging in communities where they are valued participants. and a sense of belonging in communities where they are valued participants.

At TLC we recognize that we can never fully understand the experiences of those who have faced discrimination.  However, we are committed to creating an environment free from discrimination and harassment, protecting all stakeholders from any form of discrimination or harassment.  We will provide ongoing education and training to our stakeholders to prevent discrimination and harassment and ensure everyone is treated with dignity and respect.  We will also have clear policies and procedures in place to address instances of discrimination.  Total Living Concept is committed to implementing the Platinum Rule.  The Platinum rule is a principle of interpersonal communication that states: “Treat others the way they want to be treated”.  It goes beyond the traditional “Golden Rule” of treating others the way you want to be treated and instead focuses on the individual needs and preferences of others.  The Platinum Rule acknowledges that people are unique and have different communication styles, preferences and needs.  By treating others the way they want to be treated, we can build stronger, more positive relationships and minimize misunderstandings or miscommunications. As an employer, we also ensure all employees receive fair pay and benefits for their work, without discrimination based on personal characteristics.  We provide necessary accommodations for employees with disabilities or who may need other accommodations to participate fully in the workplace.  We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued.  We believe treating employees fairly and equitably is not only the right thing to do, but also essential for our organization’s success. TLC, as a team, aims to operate with a race and social justice lens, creating a safe, fair and equitable environment for all people to learn and grow as individuals both personally and professionally.
